Since then, she has practiced in both Maine and Washington, where she had resided for the past two years. She has a special interest in working with children and families and she utilizes techniques, such as an activator instrument, that are gentle to the youngest and oldest of patients. You might be using different muscles when you tackle the gardening tasks, so do be careful to start slowly and spread out your gardening into shorter work periods. Try to avoid staying in one position for more than a few minutes to avoid stiffness and strain on the joints. Stretches before and especially after your gardening and lawn work can help to prevent soreness and backaches. Check with us if you need tips on stretching. Walking in the warmer weather can help warm those stiff muscles up and make them much more receptive to the stretching that keeps those muscles flexible. _____________________________________________________ Your health. That’s what important to you and that’s what is important to us at Mall Road Chiropractic Center. For the last quarter of a century we’ve been doing our best to make sure that you are getting the best available chiropractic care at our office. We intend to keep up the good work and to not let down when your health and welfare are at stake. If you are suffering from serious pain or mild discomfort or, if you are just looking to improve your health status, we can probably help. If you have a problem that is outside the realm of chiropractic care, we will refer you to the appropriate place for help.
Mall Road Chiropractic Center celebrates its 27th year! Though 27 years sounds like a long time, it seems like only a short time since we opened our office on Maine Mall Road in South Portland. On our first day of practice we saw one patient and it was very exciting. Fortunately for us, we’re still excited when we see someone in our office-- even though we’re busier than we were 26 years ago. What that means for us is that we still have enthusiasm and find joy in our work—helping people feel better. What this means for you is that we’re committed to you, our patients, both old and new, and we plan to be here for many more years, providing the best chiropractic services. Please don’t stop here, but check the rest of this site for other information about our office, the doctors and staff, hours, etc. On this page, you will find changing information to answer recent questions and to update you on things that are changing at MRCC.
2008 Update OFFICE HOURS AND HOLIDAYS We have office hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with early morning and evening hours to try to accommodate patients who have varying work schedules. Because chiropractic treatment may take several visits, we understand that it may be hard for some people to take time off from work for their treatment, so we have hours that vary from 8AM to 7PM on those days. (Click on “MRCC Hours /How to schedule appointments” in the column on the left, for specifics). We take our lunch from 1PM to 2PM, so that we can also accommodate people who work in the area with appointments during their lunch hour. We are closed for major holidays (New Year, Christmas, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Independence Day), but we generally have regular hours on other holidays such as Columbus Day, President’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, and Veteran’s Day. We have heard that this has been helpful for people who have those days off and can schedule appointments in advance. Please talk with us if you are having trouble in getting into the office for your scheduled treatments—we are happy to work with you to make sure you get care when you need it. HOW LONG SHOULD I CONTINUE WITH MY EXERCISES AFTER MY PAIN IS GONE? Chances are, the exercises that your chiropractor gave you helped you get rid of the pain. It is likely that these same exercises will help keep the pain away—but only if you keep doing them. (Thinking about doing exercises does not count!) A regular series of exercises can also help you know how your body is doing. If you start having difficulty performing your regular exercises or if you start to experience discomfort while or after doing them, this can be an early signal that you should call your chiropractor.
